The Acai Bowl Archive
As a South Florida native, acai bowls are a staple in my diet. Therefore, making the perfect acai bowl has been a long journey but undoubtedly a necessary one. I don’t actually have a fancy blender, so I’ve had to learn the tricks to the perfect flavor and consistency without a 600 dollar contraption. (Honestly, I’d just rather spend my money on plane tickets not vitamix blenders) So here you have it! My smoothie bowl recipe list! These are tried and true bowls that I’ve been working on all year. You can substitute different fruits and plant based milks to your liking and of course switch up your toppings… this is just what works for me. p.s. Read to the end for some tips on blending to the perfect consistency :) Enjoy and happy smoothie bowl making! xoxo

Toppings:
Anything goes on top of a smoothie bowl… you can make it as sweet or savory as you like! Customization is the fun part! Here’s a list of my essential toppings, though. I try to keep my fridge and pantry stocked with these ingredients so I can have lots of combos accessible!
From the fridge-
mango, strawberries, banana, frozen blueberries, raspberries,
pineapple, kiwi, star fruit, papaya, cantaloupe, watermelon
Dry essentials-
peanut butter drizzle, coconut flakes, chia seeds, cacao nibs,
granola, honey, bee pollen
Helpful Hints:
I have a nutri bullet blender, which is extremely affordable, but some people may choose to use a vitamix or kitchen aid blender, magic bullet, etc. Having a specific blender is not essential; however, it does change the amount of liquid needed to achieve that perfect smoothie bowl consistency. You don’t want to add too much liquid and have a smoothie… it needs to be thick like a sorbet. In order to accomplish this, I add small increments of plant milk at a time. You can add more liquid but you cannot take it away! (this is very simple yet very important) I then use a spoon to invert the contents of the mixer and continue to shake the cup/ blend for a few seconds/ add more liquid/ stir contents until the fruit is blended thoroughly and you have a swirl.
